Description:

ORBIS is seeking an electrical engineer with a background in test, control and software systems engineering for our Charleston, SC office. The electrical engineer will work under the supervision of the Lab Director and applicable Project Manager to design and develop electrical interfaces and software solutions to meet customer requirements.
Tasks

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS Electrical Engineer
  • Skills: LabVIEW (certification preferred), AutoCAD LT (2D), Allen Bradley ControlLogix or similar PLC experience desired
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years with a background in automated test, data acquisition and control systems
  • Applicant must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and troubleshooting and problem solving. Additionally, applicant must be willing to travel occasionally to customer locations in support of design review meetings, system installation, system testing events, etc.
  • Must be US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in or lead a multi-discipline design team, from project conception to project completion, while executing the required functions to design and specify electrical and electronic systems and provide input to overall system design.
  2. Obtain specifications and details of equipment and components used in electrical systems and ensure this information is correctly depicted in the design drawings and specifications, including field collection activities to gather data and determine system requirements.
  3. Conduct control system programming and configuration including understanding particular configuration segments of the overall system.
  4. Conduct system software programming and configuration to include operator interfaces.
  5. Attend review meetings and system testing events.
  6. Comply with applicable standards and organizational requirements.
