SUMMARY:

The Electrical Engineer’s prime objective is to continuously improve and maximize equipment reliability and life expectancy at optimum output and most efficient repair cost through the use of the Plant’s Proactive Maintenance (PPM) Program and improvement projects, to investigate chronic problems, research history, communicate possible solutions, complete design and implement final solution in the plant with limited interruption to plant’s production requirements.

What you’ll be contributing:

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Establish those jobs or tasks necessary to comply with his section’s objectives or programs, and defines them complete with specific instructions, technical specifications, methods, and procedures as applicable.
  • Supports the plan, schedule and assignment of electrical work ensuring the availability of tools, parts, supplies and equipment information.
  • Follow-up on the effectiveness of the work or operations performed and takes or initiate Improvement measures where necessary.
  • Reviews and analyzes Predictive (Pd) and Preventive (PM) program data.
  • Monitors equipment performance data and repair history, identifying repetitive or chronic performance problems, recommends corrective actions.
  • Works closely with Production and Process Control personnel, verifying equipment capability of operating within prescribed limits and the effectiveness of maintenance programs.
  • Performs reliability engineering analysis on major plant equipment, Supports Electrical Manager.
  • Remains abreast of predictive technologies; identify potential applications, conducting evaluations, recommending implementation strategies when warranted.
  • Provides input to the training requirements of trades personnel.
  • Monitors maintenance procedures, evaluates effectiveness, recommends improvements.
  • Documents maintenance performance indicators, analyzes trends, develops and implements improvement strategies.
  • Provides assistance to others in their problem-solving activities.
  • Identifies PPM program improvement opportunities that will lead to higher equipment reliability, improved PPM procedures or reduced cost.
  • Lead all Condition Based Maintenance initiatives and support the analysis of all critical and non-critical equipment through Preventive, Predictive and proactive approaches in accordance with their potential failure modes and Lead the RCA program.
  • The EE must have a thorough knowledge of the Plant CMMS, predictive, and preventive maintenance programs as applicable to his areas.
  • Provide on-the-spot guidance and formal training as required.
  • Maintain working and support documentation up to date.
  • Maintain working and history files on improvement projects in SAP and shared drives.
  • Maintains the electrical backlog (in cooperation with the supervisor and Planner) ensuring work orders are up to date, have been sufficiently planned and are kept live as required providing supplemental information for their records.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Preffered Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. In lieu of a degree significant experience in the cement industry would be required.
  • Good communication skills, resistance to stress and ability to lead employees is required.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of SAP is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD system and drafting skills.
