We are looking for an Electrical Engineer- Sustaining.

Reporting to Sustaining Manager/Director of Engineering, successful applicant will be responsible for providing electrical/hardware engineering services to the global business, covering a range of power supply failure analysis and product evaluation for mass produced power supplies. The incumbent will serve as the technical advisor to build up the Asia Engineering team’s competences.

  • Act as a subject matter expert or working towards becoming a subject matter expert (SME) for SMPS power supplies across the Asia business.
  • Engage and support strategic collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality teams. Aligns with global objectives
  • Challenge where appropriate and develop best engineering practice procedures and models to improve the process
  • Troubleshoot SMPS power supplies to identify root cause, and provide feedback to Quality, Manufacturing & Design teams with recommendations to drive the improvement or design changes
  • Provide test plan for impact study to mitigate risk due to design changes,
  • Take technical responsibility and identify technical risks within projects and drive the solution.
  • Ensure all customer returns are analyzed, perform tests and experiments as needed to support or confirm customer issues
  • Write & distribute failure analysis reports to internal and external customers
  • Advise sales/customer on delivery schedules of customers’ issues
  • Develop and supervise junior engineers and technicians

To be successful in this role, you should ideally have

  • Strong technical knowledge of power electronic converter topologies AC/DC and magnetics design. At least 5 years’ experience in design and engineering projects
  • Proficient in tolerance or worst case circuit analysis
  • Proven experience with power supply fault analysis and repair
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, test, quality and change management process
  • Good reasoning, problem solving, analytical skills and critical thinker, familiar with analysis techniques (8Ds, Fish bone, DFX etc)
  • Knowledge in EMC and Safety Design is a plus
  • Good technical writing capabilities and communication skills
  • Good stakeholders management skills
  • Hardworking, dynamic and a good team player
