Description:

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager for a manufacturing client in the Dallas area. Our client designs, builds and installs heavy processing equipment, typically large custom projects.

  • Base salary range: $140k - $165k DOE plus 10% bonus opportunity and benefits
  • Role is HYBRID (4 days per week in office) in West Dallas / Irving area
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum of 10+ years related experience required
  • Design and design systems experience required
  • Relocation assistance may be available if not local

Responsible for the development and implementation of standard electrical engineering design processes to achieve efficient and on time projects. Help create and outline standard work practices, process, and structured knowledge to grow a skilled team specializing in heavy equipment power and controls.

  • Development of standard project scope document for concise detail of requirements.
  • Development of standard PLC structure by equipment technology type
  • Development of standard PLC tagging system
  • Development of standard drawing structure and nomenclature by drawing type
  • Development of electrical engineering calculations as required
  • Lead & Mentor in the pursuit of continuous improvement in design practices and new technologies and to drive the execution of projects based on a milestone driven project timeline.
  • Support and engage with 3rd party vendors hired to assist the electrical engineering team
  • Manage scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated projects with minimal guidance and technical oversight.
  • Effectively manage workloads for assigned team members.
  • Develop design drawings and technical specifications to support the preparation of project deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations.
  • Review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers.
  • Participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up in support of electrical engineering team.
  • Support personnel related activities for a small team of engineers, including performance management, manpower planning and staffing, and personnel recognition.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of related experience required
  • 3+ years of leadership including supervisory experience required
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience required
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC logic preferred
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, ABB and Siemens drives preferred
  • Experience with shared movement controls, servos and drives preferred
  • Experience with OEE data collection & live, remote connection technology preferred
  • Strong Software Skills including proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work as both an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 15% dependent on need
