Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Engineering Technician at Gouk & Sullivan, you will play a vital role in our one-stop repair workshop, specializing in armature and motor rewinding, as well as servicing and repairing electric motors, generators, transformers, and related plant equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in using workshop equipment such as balancing machines, lathes, welding tools, and coil winding machines.
Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists to assist in designing and arranging electrical installations, including substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
- Create detailed drawings, plans, and diagrams for electrical installations and circuitry.
- Utilize various in-house equipment, such as balancing machines, lathes, welding tools, coil winding machines, and specialized machinery, to efficiently complete repair tasks.
- Perform electrical testing using specialized equipment to ensure the quality and functionality of repaired equipment.
- Implement quality control measures to meet industry standards and client requirements.
- Operate and maintain workshop equipment, including balancing machines, lathes, welding gear, and coil winding machines.
- Manage inventory of workshop supplies and components.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, testing, and equipment specifications.
- Generate reports on completed work for clients and internal records.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues.
- Provide technical support to ensure the smooth operation of equipment.
