We currently have an exciting opportunity for a driven, organised and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our manufacturing team in a role that will offer great potential to work your way up driving your own success and the success of the projects you win.
Based in our Head Office in Adelaide, this role within our manufacturing team provides support for tendering opportunities across all states. The role will involve working with both internal and external customers, so it is essential that you have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and proven problem solving skills.
Key responsibilities
Work on large complex tenders
Support the existing estimation team through mentoring and training.
Assess and interpret tender documentation / requirements
Work with other key resources to develop an offer to the client
Build an accurate cost estimate and proposal document
Evaluate bid specifications and review plans and drawings
Following up and negotiating tenders and supplier pricing
Working with legal team on Terms and Conditions
Identify risks on projects and mitigation strategies Develop relationships with customers, manufacturers, suppliers and wholesalers
Support key stakeholders in the Manufacturing team by tracking quotes, close out, reviewing, improving estimation processes and saving production costs via smarter designs.
Review tenders opportunities as required
Collaborate with subject matter experts for quotes and assist in putting together proposals, terms & conditions, etc.
Essential skills and experience
A sound understanding and experience estimating for projects involving electrical switchboards, control systems, power distribution and manufacturing.
Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand standards
Strategic approach to winning work and the ability to clearly articulate the SAGE value proposition
Be a proactive self-starter who builds strong client relationships
Experience and ability to understand information contained within complex tender proposals
A team player who will pitch in and support co-workers in achieving company objectives
An appreciation of project delivery and contractual requirements
Key requirements
Electrical trade or Engineering qualification or verifiable industry experience
Located in Adelaide, South Australia
