Description:

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

As an Electrical Generator Control Commissioning Engineer, a typical workday consists of a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Usually, you start the day by gathering information about current projects and customer inquiries. You check your emails and communicate with the team if necessary to ensure everyone is aligned. Following this, the actual work of commissioning the generator and controls begins. As the zero harm concept is always prioritized in all activities at SE, the working day typically starts with a safety briefing, a risk assessment, or a last-minute risk analysis of the planned activities for that day. Once this is complete, you will be conducting signal testing of all binary and analog signals required for the generator control. If errors are discovered during the check, you need to address them in collaboration with our customers or subcontractors. You also verify the settings and parameterization of all devices and facilities required for the control and adjust if necessary. At times, you may need to adapt and reprogram the programmable logic controllers commonly used in our control cabinets to suit the conditions on site. Before hot commissioning can begin with the machine running, all safety devices must be checked in advance, all trigger circuits must be tested, and the results documented. Once the machine is operational, you perform the primary checks. The machine-specific characteristics are recorded, and individual protective functions are tested along with the components installed in the primary circuits. Upon completing all tests, the commissioning is finished, and you leave the system. During periods when no customer deployment is planned, your tasks may include providing technical support and advice to our internal and external customers. Incident analysis and remote troubleshooting are also part of the activities. You can expect support from your young but very expert team at any time!
