BR&T is seeking a Electrical Lab Technician to join our team located at the Boeing facility in the Huntington Beach, California location. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Senior or Subject Matter Expert Technicians.
This position requires the candidate to primarily perform Printed Wiring Board (PWB) coupon inspections IAW IPC-A-600/IPC-6012 requirements. When not performing PWB coupon analysis, the candidate must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment using microscopes and other laboratory equipment to perform failure analysis, construction analysis, Destruct Physical Analysis (DPA), electrical tests, metallography (cross sectioning) and environmental evaluations to PWBs, PWA/CCAs, EEE (electrical, electronic, and electromechanical) parts and components, and electrical materials. Additionally, the following certifications are desired: IPC-A-600, IPC-6012 and IPC-J-STD-001.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 3+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 9+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years’ experience with Printed Wiring Board fabrication, inspection, quality, coaching & training others
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in PWB inspection to IPC-6013, IPC-6015, IPC-6017 and IPC-6018
- Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Certification in IPC-6012 & IPC-A-600
- Experience with problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCCA)
- Good communications skills both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products
- Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
- Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
- Promotes standardization across business activities
- Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
- Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
- Integrates new technologies as appropriate
- Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
- Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes
- Implements corrective and preventive actions
- Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements
- Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
- Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
