JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Location: Newport

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
- Resolves equipment breakdowns to ensure production downtime is minimised. Uses problem solving techniques to quickly get to the root cause of problems and provides effective corrective actions.
- Installation, investigation and repair of both single phase and 3 phase circuits.
- Fault analysis of relay logic, motor control circuits, motor power circuits (5V to 415V 3phase) and common utility / lighting circuits;
- Provides preventative maintenance cover for all production related equipment.
- Installation of new control circuits, modification of existing instrument/electrical systems as requested, to include design, load and Implementation of new control logic;
- Fault analysis of PLC based systems with control logic modification if required.
- Perform work you’re doing to support objectives of team, department and company.
- Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that a clean, tidy and hazard free working environment is maintained to defined standards.
- Follow all lock out / tag out procedures.
- Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnel.
- Observes all company safety rules and regulations when performing work. Required to be knowledgeable of HSE standards and other occupational hazards.
- Works from equipment specifications, drawings, sketches and verbal instructions, Maintain parts usage and repair logs.
- Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Time served apprenticeship with an electrical bias essential
- Electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Electrical installation work on both single phase and 3 phase.
- Must have extensive electrical systems solving and repair experience including PLC programs
- Knowledge of plastic moulding equipment is desired
- Must have excellent communication skills, work in a team environment and the ability to train and provide guidance to others!
- Experience working in a clean room environment would be preferred
- Licensed (or willing to gain license) to operate all types of MEWP vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HNC/ONC or BTEC in Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
