Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, Krahn Engineering Ltd. - Toronto
The Krahn Group of Companies is a full-service multi-discipline engineering firm specializing in commercial, industrial and residential development design. Over the past 30 years, we have established a reputation in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, for providing the most innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions to clients.
We are looking to hire a P.Eng to lead our Mechanical and Electrical Projects construction engineering projects in Toronto.
Your role is to competently design and implement technical aspects for projects. Your design experience will be shared amongst the staff to contribute to mentorship, quality control, technical expertise, peer review and more. You will actively participate in discussions and implementations of technical standards and processes.
Projects may include office, commercial, residential, institutional, light industrial and more. You will aid your colleagues with mentorship and opportunities for personal and career growth while contributing to the economic prosperity of various communities and helping clients achieve their goals. You will be provided guidance on creating designs which are sustainable, safe, code-compliant, cost-effective and timely. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise with the goal to be a senior engineer in electrical engineering design.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- P.Eng. is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in Mechanical and Electrical engineering for construction.
- 10+ years of experience actively using the Canadian Building Code and ASHRAE standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD is strongly required, Revit is an asset.
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required; advanced knowledge is essential.
- Experience with lighting design software, Bluebeam Revu is mandatory.
- Construction or project management experience is an asset.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English required; additional languages may be an asset.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proven organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Leads all Mechanical and Electrical projects in Ontario.
- Responsible for projects across Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia of up to ‘medium’ size and/or complexity.
- Coordinate with other disciplines including but not limited to architects, interior designers, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, etc.
- Coordinate with utility providers to provide services to site.
- Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to meet their requirements.
- Attend client meetings and liaise with clients and colleagues.
- Provide technical mentorship for electrical engineering to EITs and Technologists,
- Contribute to quality, process and technical standards.
