Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Attestation or diploma of college studies in civil engineering, electrical engineering or telecommunications
  • Practical knowledge of AutoCAD software and MS Office suite
  • Ability to work on various projects simultaneously and strong client focus and service
  • Availability for short-term travel to work sites, up to 10% of the time
  • Fluency in oral and written French
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge of geographical information systems (GIS) – an asset
  • Knowledge of PLSCADD – an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Visit sites to determine the nature of the work required
  • Carry out field surveys
  • Design overhead and/or underground power distribution networks
  • Produce drawings using AutoCAD software
  • Work with geographical information systems (GIS)
  • Carry out research on property rights and prepare easement requests
  • Estimate costs, material quantities and manpower needs
  • Obtain permits from the appropriate authorities (municipal, ministerial, etc.)
  • Ensure on-site (full-time) or occasional work supervision
  • Ensure close monitoring of projects
  • Work closely with clients
