Our client is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer with proven experience in the Australian renewable energy sector to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and management of electrical projects, contributing to the advancement of renewable energy initiatives across Australia.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in electrical engineering roles within the Australian renewable energy sector, with a focus on utility-scale projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and ETAP, as well as familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4777).
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and analytical approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning, with a keen interest in advancing renewable energy technologies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the electrical engineering aspects of renewable energy projects from conception to completion.
- Conducts feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate project viability and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans, including cost estimates, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Designs and optimizes electrical systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety in accordance with industry best practices.
- Oversees the procurement and installation of electrical equipment and components, coordinating with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.
- Performs site inspections and commissioning activities to verify system performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Develops and implements testing protocols and procedures to validate system functionality and optimize performance parameters.
- Provides technical support and guidance to project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitors project progress and budgetary adherence, identifying and mitigating risks and deviations to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Prepares comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, reports, and operating manuals.
- Stays abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments to inform project designs and enhance organizational capabilities.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, seeking opportunities to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance project efficiencies.
- Collaborates with internal teams to identify and pursue business development opportunities, leveraging technical expertise and market insights to drive growth.
- Represents our client in meetings, conferences, and industry events, promoting their brand and contributing to thought leadership within the renewable energy sector.
