Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide oversight and project management of high-level system and component design engineering, integration/interface design engineering, test plan and test procedure design and verification, and system performance requirements evaluation.
- Demonstrate experience with EL associated administrative programs and support systems.
- Develop ship system status studies, repair specifications and verifications.
- Familiar with terms and availability execution that are required primarily for U.S. Naval aircraft carriers and other U.S. Naval vessels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 20 years of naval hands-on shipboard electrical experience. Including but not limited to:
- Electrical Officer (Electro); or
- Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) of a shipboard Electrical division.
- Must have at least 5 years of recent shipboard electrical experience.
- Must have at least 3 years at sea tours working in an Electrical capacity.
- Must have Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) qualification and Electrical Plant Control Console (EPCC) operator on at least one platform.
- Must be familiar of all EL associated administrative programs (E.g. Tag Out, Cathodic Protection Logs, Degaussing).
- Must be familiar with a Working level knowledge of all EL related support systems (E.g. Power Generation, shore power, cathodic protection, degaussing, 60hz, 400hz, IC systems – telltale panel, 1MC.
- Must be familiar with the Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM), particularly Chapter 6 governing Readiness Evaluations.
- Must be familiar with INSURV publications including instructions, Master Event Lists, Workbook contents, required deliverables, inspection guides (IIG) and a notional Schedule of Events.
- Must be familiar with Material Maintenance Management (3M) and the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Must be familiar with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), in particular, Equipment Operational Capability (EOC) definitions and scoring value scale (Volume 6, Chapter 5, Appendix A).
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer at least 25 years of Navy surface ship engineering experience.
- A Retired LDO, CWO or E8/E9.
- Experience as an Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV).
- Experience as an inspector at the Afloat Training Group or TYCOM staff focusing on Pre-INSURV preparations
- Proficient communicator, both orally and in writing.
- Have a working knowledge of the Optimum Fleet Response Plan (OFRP) and how the SFTRM is used to execute it.
- Have a working knowledge in each respective functional area of INSURV Material Inspections; understand the variations of established SOEs, INSURV Inspection Guides (IIG) and their associated references; and be familiar with all INSURV instructions and publications governing the conduct of the inspections and underway demonstrations.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability and eligibility to maintain a Secret clearance
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 50% of time must be willing and able to travel.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically able to climb up and down a pilot’s ladder and stay onboard a U.S. Naval Vessel for several consecutive days underway.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- May require climbing up/down ship ladders and enclosed spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Valkyrie Enterprise needs a Sr Electrical Engineer Analyst will conduct material checks on respective functional area-related equipment and systems in support of TMIT.
