Who we’re looking for:
As an experienced Electrical Specialist, you will oversee the servicing, repair, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure at Ridgeway, including supervision of a small team. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in maintaining the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our electrical equipment. You will have in-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure, strong problem-solving prowess, project management skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution.

Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical infrastructure such as crushers, compressors, pumps, panels, sub-stations and other various electrical equipment.
  • Meeting company maintenance and production objectives by ensuring all electrical installation and maintenance work is carried out to relevant Australian Standards and regulations.
  • Scope, evaluate, plan, and implement key projects, providing inputs to support integrated plans.
  • Provide supervision to a small team, which may include business partners at times.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders when required to undertake operational tasks.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to maintenance teams to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. CCVs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.
  • Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.

About You

We are looking for a safety focused individual who has:

  • Demonstrate behaviour consistent with Newmont values and a proven record in promoting and managing safety in the workplace.
  • Experience in underground mining in an operational environment, ideally in multiple mines, large scale underground projects.
  • Supervisory and project management experience.
  • Qualified with NSW Electrical Trade Certificate.
  • Manual C Class Driver’s License is required.
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your role.
  • Results orientated with a commitment to delivering planned outcomes consistent with safe production.
