Description:

Electrical Technician

We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician. Based in Sydney, to ensure the overall smooth and efficient operation of the Parramatta Light Rail Vehicles corrective maintenance and fault finding in line with CAF policies and procedures, reporting to the Warranty Manager. Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out in a safe manner in line with Work Health and Safety guidelines.

Fundamental roles and responsibilities which are inherent to the position:

  • Forward planning regarding workloads and ensure the required resources and material are available to meet the demands.
  • Input of daily data into the asset management system and ensure and oversee the accuracy of the other technician’s input.
  • Carrying out corrective maintenance on all aspects of CAF rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan and in line with CAF policies and procedures.
  • Innovative and astute fault finding and rectification skills using mechanical, electrical schematics and system data logs.
  • Inspecting bodywork, roofs and undercarriages for wear and tear or damage.
  • Repairing and replacing parts.
  • Carrying out checks on brakes and couplings.
  • Taking apart, testing and reassembling mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Writing reports and updating the Maintenance Management System to reflect the status of tasks.
  • Recording material movements.
  • Ensuring tasks carried out meet the quality requirements of the relevant Railway standards.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all Australians health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements.

Education:

  • Certificate in Electrical qualifications, mandatory.

Experience:

  • Previous experience within the rail or airline industry preferably.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication.

  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Honest and Reliable.
  • Positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work rostered shift work.
