Description:

ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN - HUNTINGDON (ONSITE) - £39,488 - £46,133

Join our team at National Gas’s Huntingdon site!
As a skilled technician, you’ll help protect and maintain the high-pressure systems in our compressor stations. These stations are the engines that power long-distance gas pipelines across the National Transmission System.
Working with our Operations Team, you’ll cover a patch to take on the installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, repair and maintenance of various equipment.
You’ll also issue permission documents, formulate isolations and support with the construction and commissioning of new assets on the system.
You’ll have previously completed an apprenticeship (or other recognised training scheme) and hold a BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3) in an Electrical discipline.
You’ll have operated, controlled, and undertaken work within Safe Systems of Work. You’ll also have experience in undertaking maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification work within the oil and gas (or similar) industry.
We work in hazardous areas, so knowledge of health and safety is key. It would be desirable for you to have an in date CompEx certificate, if not, it is something we will invest in putting you through.
You’ll be covering different sites across your patch, so expect some travel.
At National Gas, we really take the time to understand what you want to achieve out of your role and career, that’s why we encourage people to speak about their personalised development plan early on. This might be developing in your existing role, you might even have your sights set on a higher-level position, whatever it is we will give you the support and tools needed to succeed.
Because this role works so closely with the UK Critical National Infrastructure it does requires National Security Vetting and for us that means you cannot have a criminal record and in the last 5 years you cannot have been out of the UK for cumulatively 6 months or greater than.
