Job description
Background : Electrical technician will exhibit exemplary Safety & Technical compentance in all matters pertaining to electrical maintenance works on and around vessel he is responsible for ensuring that he Maintains compentance to carry out allotted tasks.
Immediate Subordinates : Electrical operators sub contractors visitors Vendor.
1. Maintain & Adjust the condition of electrical assets .
v Comply with relevant authorization procedures safe working practices and Specific Instructions.
v Complete maintenance in an agreed timescale using safe & appropriate methods and agreed procedures.
v Ensure the correct current Openings requirements are available for reference.
v Ensure any assets which have been maintained or had parameters adjusted still comply with specified operating requirements with minimum disruption and with specified methods.
v Monitor and record any Maintenance or adjustements accurately in work.
2. Monitor & assess the performance and condition of electrical assets
v Use monitoring equipement or procedures correctly to assess the condition of electrical assets.
v Ensure monitoring and checks are carried out in line with specified MMS timesales and schedules.
v Record & communicate monitored outcomes accurately and in timely fashion to raise effectiveness of MMS.
v Compare current performance with previous assessments & take action where differences must be addressed.
3. Diagnose faults in electrical assets
v Respond promptly to prblms in line approved procedures.
v Select appropriate tests and diagnostic and apply them methodically.
v Determine the cause nature & extent of prblms in performance and condition of electrical systems
v Use Results of Inspections to determine the appropriate actions to take
v Record an accurate and full decription in the appropriate document history.
4. Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures
v Sample and Check that controlled process discharge form area of responsibility to the Environment are within prescribed limits.
v Identify and half unplanned discharges where possible and reported immediately according to policy procedure and Regulation
