Responsibilities:

MŌ TĒNEI TŪRANGA MAHI | ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time (36 hours per week) Electrical Lecturer at our EIT | Te Pūkenga business division located in Hawke’s Bay. The role of an Electrical Tutor at EIT encompasses delivering high-quality educational experiences in electrical engineering, including designing and delivering curriculum content, providing mentorship and support to students, and fostering industry connections.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $78,000 and $90,000 depending on skills and experience.

The Electrical Tutor role is based within our School of Trades and Technology and reports to the Head of School. This role will be responsible for:

  • Continuously assessing and adapting the course content, instructional materials, and methods to suit evolving contexts, which include blended and flexible delivery techniques, and the pivotal role of educational technologies in instruction.
  • Teach a broad range of electronic and electrical subjects in the EIT Electrical Trades programs and other programs including night classes as may be required.
  • Overseeing assessment and evaluation procedures in accordance with academic guidelines, including conducting both internal and external assessment moderation.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of students and courses, evaluating student performance, and providing relevant feedback.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience in the electrical industry is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical skills in electrical essential.
  • Experience in electronics applicable to the electrical industry.
  • Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Administration and organisational skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills.
