REPORTS TO: Vessel Chief Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Operations (Marine)
LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Ad Hoc/ Temporary
START DATE: Approx May 29th 2024
LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT: Four (4) Weeks
JOB SUMMARY: The maintenance of all electrical and electronic equipment

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
  • STCW Certification
  • Seafarer Discharge Book
  • Marine First Aid
  • H2S Alive
  • Seafarer Medical
  • Valid Passport
  • Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection Training considered an Asset.
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

Responsibilities:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Marine Electronics Technician Position with a proven track record in the industry, including experience with frequency drives, marine navigational electronics/DP systems, power management systems;
  • Strong understanding of PLC’s, engine, generator, propulsion and control systems;
  • Demonstrates strong trouble shooting and fault finding, automation and control skills;
  • Possess a high commitment to customer service and safe working practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A high level knowledge of ISM, ISPS,Transport Canada, and all applicable legislative requirements for operating vessels in Canada
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Capable of discussing issues and topics of importance at every level
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
