Saab Technology Center is now further expanding its development unit in Tampere and we are seeking a talented, self-driven and highly motivated Electronic Warfare Systems Specialist to join our team developing next generation Electronic Warfare systems.
Your role
As part of a research and development team, you will collaborate with our cross-functional development team in the definition and development of our product portfolio. This is an exciting position, which gives you the unique opportunity to shape tomorrow’s cutting-edge (EW) Electronic Warfare technologies!

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting R&D with Electronic Warfare domain related knowledge
  • Taking actively part in systems definition and conceptualization by defining and evaluating system requirements for future products
  • Operating and testing the EW systems under development and giving feedback to guide the development
  • Participating in customer discussions and product sales meetings
  • Supporting Product Management in defining future EW product roadmaps
  • Supporting Field Application Engineers (FAEs) in product demonstrations and field tests
  • Defining and performing customer product trainings together with the FAEs
  • Keeping Electronic Warfare related trainings to Saab personnel

Your profile

Essential skills to have

  • Extensive hands-on experience involving the operation, testing, evaluation, or development of ESM/ELINT systems
  • Solid understanding of Electronic Warfare, Military Radar and Military Communications technologies
  • Good understanding of Electronic Warfare operational concepts and their practical employment
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Military Sciences or similar

In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defence secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.

Your work place will be at Tampere, in Saab Technology Center, with great location just near city downtown. At Saab Technology Center, you will be part of the Surface Sensors Solutions Business Unit. Saab Technology Center contributes to the next generation distributed systems for Electronic Support and Electronic Attack utilizing highly innovative hardware and software.
Since Saab is a global company, this role will require some travelling.
