Salary package: $97,707 to $102,600 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

THE POSITION
The Research School for Astronomy and Astrophysics is looking for an Electronics Manager to manage a small and dedicated team at Siding Spring Observatory (SSO) that provides electronics design, development and maintenance expertise for the facilities at the observatory. The role will also be expected to maintain a high level of awareness of current technologies in electronic systems and will assist with the training of staff in these fields.
The position is located at Siding Spring Observatory (SSO), which is one of two key sites for the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA) in Australia. The site sits at the summit of Mt Woorut, NSW, and is set within the stunning National Heritage Listed Warrumbungle National Park, around 30 kilometres from the town of Coonabarabran, NSW.
This role also involves working in confined spaces, working at heights, shift work and driving to and from sites. For further information, please refer to the Position Description and PEWER form link below.
THE PERSON
We are looking for a strong team player with electronic experience and extensive technical management expertise to provide support to general operations at SSO. The Electronics Manager needs to have excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to quickly develop productive, professional relationships with colleagues and clients. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key.
