About the position
For our core engineering team, we are looking for an Embedded IoT Systems Engineer who will take ownership of software development for our Linux-based onboard computer to ensure AWAKE Mobility’s platform is kept fed with high-quality vehicle data.
Tasks

What you will be responsible for

  • Designing and developing (embedded) software for our on-board computer to reliably collect, process, and transmit vehicle data.
  • Building resources on AWS that ingest data delivered by our onboard computers.
  • Ensuring our onboard computers remain secure by using state-of-the-art security methods.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in embedded systems and IoT development, and apply them to our on-board computers.

Requirements

What you bring to the table

  • 3+ years of experience in development for embedded/IoT systems running Linux.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded development: C/C++ and shell scripting. Python is a big plus.
  • An excellent grasp of IoT concepts, protocols, and security.
  • Experience with vehicle sensor data and automotive communication protocols such as CAN and OBD is a big plus
  • Experience with AWS is a big plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both German and English
