Description:

GENERAL INFORMATION RELATING TO THE POSITION

The Supplier Engineer will support ES Project requirements from proposal through startup as well as work with the Supplier Quality Manager to continuous improve supplier performance through the development of supplier quality management systems, sharing of best practices and through the improvement of supplier surveillance. In addition the Quality Engineer will work with Procurement Managers, Project Engineers, Sourcing Project Leaders, Fulfilment Buyers and the Supplier Quality Manager to support ES Project Supplier Quality Activity and develop suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

The person in this role must possess the following skills and abilities:

  • REQUIRED: Minimum 2-5 years of experience driving supplier qualification programs, supplier development and supplier quality problem solving Master in root cause analysis methods (QRQC, PDCA, FMEA, etc…).
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Required: Non-Destructive Testing Certificate VT-PT level#2.
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Track record of significant improvement in supplier component quality.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical components.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • ISO and other quality systems.
  • Sound Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of water treatment key machineries.
  • Solid English Language knowledge.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, DOE, Deming Cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act), etc.

Responsibilities:

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development of new and existing suppliers by improving their quality management systems to improve overall part and documentation quality.
  • Audit current and future suppliers to evaluate risk by monitoring changes in management, key personnel, and process changes.
  • Identification and evaluation of new suppliers.
  • Assist in the development of project specific Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and the continuous improvement of ITP templates.
  • Monitor the quality outcome of the external providers as per the inspection plan for the project equipment.
  • Manage inspection reports and supplier quality communication.
  • Actively manage Return on Experience (REX) from quality inspection with Procurement and Engineering teams.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (Quick Response Quality Control) involving Engineering and other key departments for non-conformance issues.
  • Manage quality documentation submittals and approvals as required by project specifications.
  • Work closely with 3rd party inspection agencies and coordinate the inspection executions.
  • Manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) program, maintain the green scorecard for the KPI’s.
  • Actively support category specialists, category managers, and supply chain managers in category strategy development, supplier selection, and supply market research.
  • Assist in the development of REXs and the continuous improvement of the quality management system.
  • Support the Lead Supplier Quality Engineer’s work.
