BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 4 years EMEA payroll experience
  • A knowledge of German & Swiss payroll legislation
  • Good working knowledge of Excel (v-look ups), Word and PowerPoint
  • Experienced in working to tight deadlines
  • Methodical and organised with a positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail is essential
  • Ability to prioritise, manage time and work effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong team player in an environment of professionals
  • Fluent German and English language skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of working with EMEA payroll & 3rd party payroll providers
  • Experience of Professional/Financial Services Environment

Responsibilities:

The EMEA Payroll Specialist is a support role within the EMEA payroll team that reports to Payroll Director. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing through third party vendors for, but not exclusive to, Germany and Switzerland as well as supporting other administrative functions as required. You will be the subject matter expert for these country payrolls and will be fluent in English and German. The role will be based in Germany.

What You’ll Do

  • Processing of EMEA Payrolls
  • Reviewing and checking all aspects of Payroll processing, Starters, Leavers, Variable data e.g. bonus, advances, leave, salary sacrifice, and Benefits processed through payroll.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant processes have been followed and approvals obtained prior to any payroll adjustments being processed.
  • Working with the 3rd party payroll providers in country to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls
  • Reconciling of payrolls prior to sending for approval
  • Maintaining accurate files
  • Day to day liaison with key stakeholders – Payroll Providers, HR, employees, Benefits Team, Office Managers, Management Accountants etc
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly payroll reconciliations and control reports
  • Liaising with the Finance teams to ensure all relevant payments to local tax authorities and 3rd party providers are processed accurately and timely
  • To act as a designated point of contact and subject matter expert for payroll related queries submitted by staff, management and key stakeholders
  • Maintaining an understanding of current payroll legislation in the regions
  • Ensure process notes and maps are kept updated with any changes in conjunction with the Payroll Manager
  • Support Management with Payroll reporting requests, including (but not limited to) salary data, bonus data, payroll costings etc.
  • Managing the relevant country mailboxes
  • Other ad hoc duties as required
