Description:
THE POSITION
Our client is seeking multiple experienced Emergency Registrars for their busy Emergency Department.
The Emergency Registrars are responsible for providing high level of emergency clinical services in a high quality and safe environment.
You will be supported and encouraged to expand your training in emergency medicine and education to become an integral member of their team.
They are looking for candidates who have current emergency experience, a demonstrated ability to provide a high level of medical care to patients in emergency, along with the ability to supervise and train junior staff, including clinical education and support.
IMG’s who are eligible for the Short-Term Training Pathway, Standard Pathway or Competent Authority Pathway are welcome to apply.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Fully registered or eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with APRHA.
- Standard Pathway (AMC Part 1 complete), Short-Term Training Pathway, and Competent Authority IMG’s welcome.
- Current experience relevant to the position of Emergency Medicine Registrar.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Evidence of involvement in continuing professional development.
- Proven ability to apply theoretical knowledge and experience in determining the appropriate clinical diagnosis, investigations, and treatment of patients.
- Proven reliability in work within personal level of expertise and seeking assistance as needed from senior staff.
- Demonstrated interest in assisting interns and residents to extend their clinical skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
- Document relevant clinical information and in-patient charts accurately, concisely, and legibly.
- Ensure discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete prior to leaving the unit.
- Conduct interviews, examinations and the identification of clinical problems including day-to-day review of patients.
- Arrange investigations, surgical treatment, medical treatment, and discharge as directed by the assigned consultant.
- Assist with surgical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed by the Consultant.
- Provide support for junior and senior medical staff as required.
- Assist with case presentations at teaching meetings where necessary.
- Participate in clinical meetings undertaken within the appropriate clinical unit.
- Participate in after-hours shift roster as required by the Clinical Director, Department of Emergency Medicine.
- Assist with teaching junior medical staff and including clinical education and support.
- Participate in continual professional development and medical education.
