Description:

OUR HEALTH SERVICE

Albury Wodonga is the first cross border public health service to exist in Australia. As the largest regional service between Sydney and Melbourne, it directly serves a local community of 100,000 and supports a catchment population of 300,000 covering North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales.
Our Emergency Departments have over 60,000 presentations per year with a greater than 20% admission rate and paediatric presentations 25% of all presentations. Albury Wodonga Health is a Regional Trauma Referral Centre dealing with the full spectrum of Emergency Care with trauma and resuscitation.
Our team continues to develop as we move to the opening of our new emergency department with 58 points of care in 2024.
You will be joining a dynamic new team of FACEMs that are committed to the ongoing development of emergency care on the border. Our department is accredited as a training site for the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). There are exciting opportunities to not only continue to maintain your clinical skills as well as help develop our health service.

OUR REGION

Albury Wodonga is a rapidly developing regional centre with the best of both worlds- natural captivating beauty with the delights of a major city. No matter your interest, our local offerings make it easy to switch off from work. We are home to a diverse regional dining scene, with modern and sophisticated eateries and a burgeoning café culture. There is a thriving live music and theatre scene, and opportunities to explore our galleries, boutiques, gardens, modern art and ancient indigenous culture. Our convenient location on the border of NSW and Victoria allows day trips to the ski fields, wine regions, and neighbouring boutique towns. For those looking for outdoor adventures- be it mountain bike riding, camping, fishing, or simply bushwalking along the many rivers, gorges or hills- the pristine surrounds of our region are sure to appeal.
There is increasing access to major centres with flights now available to Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, or simply take a scenic drive to Sydney or Melbourne.
The wonders of this region were recently recognising with Wotif naming Albury Wodonga as the 2023 top Australian destination.
