Description:
The Design Release Engineer responsibilities include but are not are limited to specifying, designing, developing and releasing electric motors and electric drive modules for Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) vehicle applications. The Engineer will guide the engineering development of electric motors from Design Concept into Product Launch, including Electromagnetic Design, Mechanical Design, and Thermal Analysis. The selected Candidate will : coordinate the release of designs, obtain design approvals, ensure designs are manufacturable, component readiness, track piece cost, investment & mass, support future design direction, lead and facilitate resolution of component issues, lead design changes through change management process, support eMotor & EDM launch in the selected plants, and support supplier quality assurance & warranty resolution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree in engineering from an ABET accredited University.
4+ years of related engineering experience.
2+ years of design release experience.
Understanding of Electric Motor or EDM operation, design, manufacturing, testing & development
Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Knowledge of drawing GD&T and dimensional tolerance stack-ups.
Experience with Statement of Requirements, DFMEA, and Design Reviews.
Working knowledge of problem resolution and tracking systems and engineering change management processes.
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Certification.
