Description:

We have an exciting opportunity available with our UPMC Threat Assessment & Employee Access department. We’re searching for a full-time, Employee Access Systems Admin (IT) to join the team! This position primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday. A perk of this position includes flexible work arrangements that allow you to spend the majority of your week working at home!
In this role, the Employee Access Systems Admin supports the department by administering core public safety-related technologies, such as access control systems, video surveillance systems, etc. on a system wide and consistent basis. Such administration will include the development of system wide standards as they relate to core public safety technologies to include the interjection of core public safety technologies into new construction projects, integration of newly affiliated locations to system wide standards as they pertain to public safety technology, and fostering standardization and redundancy throughout all aspects of UPMC’s public safety technical architecture. Additionally, the position will also serve as an administrator to public safety-related applications and systems at UPMC to include police / security reporting repositories, computer aided dispatch (CAD) applications, governmentally sponsored law enforcement systems, etc.
The ideal candidate has a background in access control systems. Additionally, they are comfortable with Excel, computer reports and database maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of system wide standards pertaining to core public safety technologies and foster compliance to the standards.
  • Development and maintenance of a standardized data set to be used as a basis for all core security technology functionality across the UPMC enterprise.
  • Foster facility access control interoperability, standardization, integration.
  • Oversee video surveillance system consolidation, interoperability, standardization.
  • Promote communication systems interoperability.
  • Manage the public safety technology aspects of new facility integrations.
  • Improve automation to simplify current processes with regard to public safety-related technologies.
  • Assist with the management of public safety information systems and support to include assisting with training initiatives.
  • Redundancy development and maintenance of all security-related technologies.
  • Foster collaboration and coordination between localized system owners.
  • Serve as an expert advisor during UPMC’s procurement processes to assure proper application of UPMC’s scale during equipment and services acquisition.
  • Investigative / Fraud Team support when needed to include supporting various types of investigations that have system wide implications and maintaining evidence control pertaining to UPMC initiated criminal investigations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Electronics, Information Technology, Criminal Justice or a related field and one year of demonstrable experience regarding the administration of core security technologies such as physical access control systems, video surveillance systems, radio communications systems, etc.
  • OR Associates Degree in Electronics, Criminal Justice or a related field and five years of demonstrable experience regarding the administration of core security technologies such as physical access control systems, video surveillance systems, radio communications systems, etc.
  • OR 10 years of demonstrable experience regarding the administration of core security technologies such as physical access control systems, video surveillance systems, radio communications systems, etc.
  • Experience with computer reporting, Microsoft Excel and SQL preferred.
