Description:

LifeSouth is looking for a creative and motivated, forward-thinking innovator to join the team as Employee Engagement Coordinator in Gainesville, FL. This position is responsible for the development, delivery, and communication of programs, policies, practices, and training that address matters related to LifeSouth’s employee engagement and diversity initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Basic computer knowledge and experience with computer programs such as MS Office
  • Problem solving, time management and priority setting skills
  • Ability to analyze information and convert related activities into a comprehensive work plan
  • Ability to multi-task and drive multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Discretion in working with confidential records and maintain confidentiality of these materials
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements.

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 125 hospitals in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 30 donor centers, 50 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Create company-wide initiatives to build company culture and engagement.
  • Establish engagement and retention goals; prepare reports to communicate employee engagement and retention trends.
  • Create and execute strategic programs and engagement activities.
  • Develop new and update current onboarding processes to aid in employee retention.
  • Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster the organization’s diversity goals.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data to evaluate the company’s population in accordance with diversity standards and goals.
  • Work with the Talent and Recruitment team to develop and implement recruiting and hiring strategies to attract employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Develop and/or acquire training and development to aid diversity and retention initiatives.
  • Act as company liaison with government agencies concerning affirmative action and equal employment opportunities.
  • Create and implement Affirmative Action Plans (AAP’s) for the organization and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Participate in any OFCCP investigations and/or provide documentation in response to any requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Gather necessary data and submit required reports to state and federal agencies including EEO-1 and VETS-100 reports.
  • Identify and resolve problems related to EEO/AA initiatives and processes.
  • Serve as liaison between the organization and local organizations for minorities, women, persons with disabilities, community action groups and community service programs.
  • Use appropriate statistical software or tools to measure and monitor equal opportunity and affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Report survey results, statistics, and recommendations for corrective action to the Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator and executive management as appropriate.
  • Address internal inquiries regarding equal opportunity laws and regulations as appropriate and refer sensitive issues and concerns to Director of Human Resources and/or General Counsel.
  • Provide guidance to management and human resources staff in developing objective performance and other employee evaluations and policies.
  • Oversee the delivery of the annual Employee Satisfaction Survey, and report the results, statistics, and recommendations for improvement to Director of HR and executive management.
  • Create, coordinate, and report results for climate surveys, exit surveys, and stay interviews.
  • Send all resigning or terminated employees an invitation to complete an exit survey; read and review all completed surveys and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • Identify and investigate patterns of concern within the exit surveys and bring to the attention of the Director of HR, General Counsel and Employee Relations Manager.
  • Work with Marketing team to create and update content for bi-weekly newsletter, The Pulse.
  • Manage the employee recognition program.
  • Assist district management and District Administrative Services Coordinators (DASCs) with developing employee appreciation and recognition programs for their specific regions.
  • Coordinate corporate events to include holiday party and all recognition events.
  • Manage the employee wellness program.
