Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Employee Engagement Specialist is focused on the strategy and execution of engagement-related employee communications and activities across the organization. This position will partner with leadership on talent management strategies and needs, leveraging creative and strategic solutions to build and deliver meaningful experiences. The position’s primary responsibility is to target areas where employes may feel disconnected rom the organization and empower leadership with valuable data to make positive changes. Through various measures, initiatives, and approaches, this position will provide leadership with the tools to make informed decisions on how to improve employees’ alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Cherokee Nation. The Employee Engagement Specialist will foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture by creating, implementing, and overseeing various employee engagement initiatives and will be responsible for boosting employee morale, improving job satisfaction, and enhancing overall organizational performance.
Job Duties:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An additional one (1) year of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Coaches individual managers/employees for professional growth and leadership development.
  • Conducts design and development work in various employee engagement-related programs and leadership development initiatives and evaluates the effectiveness of those programs.
  • Designs and implements needs analysis planning efforts; interprets data from needs analysis in order to make recommendations for changes in processes and offerings.
  • Designs, plans, coordinates and participates in the development and delivery of mandatory and professional training course offerings and modifies existing offerings to improve alignment with organizational and talent needs.
  • Works with managers and other tribal employees to design, plan, coordinate and implement employee and team effectiveness strategies.
  • Distributes information on an organization-wide level regarding recognition, awards, developmental opportunities and other special programs.
  • Consults with departments to develop programs and provide information designed to enhance employee engagement, team building foundations and cultural initiatives.
  • Designs processes and programs to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participates in conferences and certification programs to provide continuous improvement of organizational offerings and to network with fellow professionals in other organizations.
  • Assists with developing and utilizing tools, surveys, metrics and measures to assess the effectiveness and impact of engagement initiatives.
  • Reviews, analyzes and interprets data from survey results and assist management with creating action plans based on findings.
  • Builds connectivity between departments and Human Resources to promote an inclusive culture and workplace.
  • Assists with designing and implementing a full employee communication and engagement strategy that cultivates a positive, open and innovative culture.
  • Coordinates special projects, event planning; and assists with managing and monitoring effectiveness of special projects such as annual hiring events and internship programs.
  • Utilizes exceptional creativity and involves frequent interaction with executive levels to pitch new ideas, programs, and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute creative employee engagement strategies, initiatives, and programs to enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement a comprehensive employee recognition program that acknowledges outstanding contributions and milestones.
  • Plan, organize, and manage various events and activities aimed at promoting team building, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging among employees.
  • Create engaging and informative content for the employee intranet site, including articles, videos, newsletters, and announcements, to keep employees informed and connected.
  • Monitor and analyze employe feedback and survey data to identify areas for improvement in employee engagement and suggest actionable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and suppliers to source resources for engagement activities and events.
  • Regularly assess the impact of engagement initiatives through metrics and qualitative feedback and make necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Act as a visible and approachable resource for employees, providing guidance, support, and assistance in matters related to engagement and morale.
