Position Overview
The Employee Relations Administrator (ERA) will provide expert-level investigation and resolution of employee relations issues. This position provides a broad range of professional employee relations activities including but not limited to: employee consulting, training, unemployment life cycle, resolving workplace issues, investigation, policy interpretation and the preparation and delivery of related summary reports and recommendations. The ER Administrators are the primary investigators of issues/complaints; creating clear, concise, and accurately written reports of findings, along with proposed remedial actions. This position works with a great deal of independent discretion in decision making and execution of responsibilities.
Key Results Areas (KRAs)

Conduct comprehensive internal employee investigations with a goal of rapid and definitive resolutions:

  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints and issues
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions
  • Completing all investigations timely and accurately with a focus on service, quality, and speed.
  • Ability to independently prepare reports for interviews and other documentation accurately reflecting investigative activity and results.
  • Communicate regularly with ERBP and VP of People Services around status/themes of investigation
  • Ability to counsel/advise leadership through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between employees or between employees and management
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Ensure all service level agreements are being met
  • Provide backup support to areas that are assigned to you
  • Review and process unemployment claims; attend state unemployment hearings as needed
  • Review escalated background checks and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks pre/post adverse actions and advise on hiring decision
  • Provide feedback on employment policies

Develop and deliver comprehensive documentation, training and reports that supply

leadership with a thorough understanding of the company’s employee relations landscape:

  • Prepare and provide periodic, and ad hoc reports, as requiredProvide education on the company’s HR policies and processes and provide consultation on their application
  • Monitor, analyze, consult and take action on employee relations trends and identifying areas for improvement
  • Offer guidance to field leadership to help make informed decisions in complex and challenging situations by leveraging and leading with HR data, company policy, and employment law
  • Develop, implement, and conduct training sessions on employee relations programs and initiatives

Stay Current on Employment Laws & Regulations:

  • Participate and attend necessary trainings and/or conferences, in person or through webinars
  • Attend routine meetings with the Legal department to discuss pending and active employment laws that apply to the organization.
  • Proactively perform other duties as needed or assigned

Job Qualifications

  • 5 years experience working in the Human Resources field with proven experience managing internal investigations and sensitive employment matters.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communication, or other related fields is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of Employment Law, compliance, and ER Best Practices
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage simultaneous assignments with potentially conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong diplomacy and collaboration skills
  • Ability to listen to varying inputs and perspectives; synthesize and develop an output, action plan, and/or communications plan
  • Must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to protect confidentiality and personal privacy while handling sensitive documents and records
  • Ability to collaborate and influence at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Works both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
