About the Role
As an Employee Relations Advisor in our Health & Safety function at ANZ Group, you’ll play a key role in helping to bring people to work together to create a positive, safe and inclusive workplace. We’re responsible for end to end ownership of the employee experience, from dedicated first responders through to case resolution.
In this role, you’ll work in the Employee Relations Team with Line Managers and employees across the ANZ Group, managing ANZ Group’s most complex ER matters. You will manage a portfolio of interesting and complex ER cases and work on projects focused on continuous improvement of our service.

What will your day look like?

Responsibilities:

Conducting complex workplace investigations, resolving employee grievances and supporting the parties to resolve issues themselves
Managing complex misconduct processes and supporting Line Managers to address matters requiring disciplinary outcomes
Providing quality ER advice relating to complex policy matters and employee issues whilst ensuring a commercial, values-based, and lawful outcome
Supporting colleagues to deliver good quality, fair ER outcomes and to meet team deliverables
Continuous improvement of ER processes and contribution to team and Tribe initiatives
Establishing collaborative working relationships within the team and Tribe, Talent & Culture and ANZ Group stakeholders
Mentoring and inclusion in the development of junior members ANZ Group’s ER Team
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive experience in the practice of employment law or many years’ experience working in Employee Relations roles
Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and commercial acumen to a range of complex cases, delivering practical advice that manages risk and accords with best practice
Ability to autonomously and efficiently manage multiple ER cases and priorities, including setting the ER strategy for each matter, managing risk, coaching line managers and managing stakeholders
Excellent influencing, negotiation, coaching and stakeholder management skills
ER Specialist knowledge (including knowledge of and experience managing employee misconduct, terminations, poor performance, health, harassment, bullying, unacceptable behaviour and other grievances, in addition to undertaking investigations)
Advanced understanding of employment, discrimination and equal opportunity laws, relationship between policies, employment contracts, awards and agreements
