Description:

ABOUT YOUI

At Youi, we believe in challenging to the status quo. We’re not your typical insurance company - and that extends to how we sell insurance and hire our team. With over 1,800 employees, we have ambitious goals to keep growing and continue delivering awesome insurance solutions across new products and distribution channels.
We pride ourselves on our diversity and individuality, both among our employees and the customers we serve. We believe that it is the unique combination of skills, perspectives, and experiences of our people that truly sets us apart.
Our company values – being dynamic, human-focused, awesome service, honest, and passionate – guide everything we do. We recognise and value the contributions of each team member to our culture and success.
At Youi, we’re unafraid to be different, and we’re looking for people who share our values and want to be part of a team that is making a difference in the insurance industry

Responsibilities:

In this role at Youi, you will provide comprehensive employment relations and case management support through advice, coaching, guidance, and administration to our leaders and their teams. Your efforts will ensure fairness, consistency, risk mitigation, and compliance with industrial regulations. You’ll be pivotal in upholding best practices and maintaining our commitment to regulatory standards, thanks to your proactive focus on external changes and their implications for our policies, programs, and practices.
Working closely with an experienced in-house employment lawyer and our collaborative P&C Business Partners, you’ll have a unique opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge. This environment is designed for learning and growth, allowing you to draw from the expertise of seasoned professionals.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and tailor your communication approach to suit various audiences, from emerging leaders to senior executives. Your ability to prioritise and re-prioritise tasks effectively will be crucial, as will your ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with stakeholders and your P&C team. As a trusted advisor, you’ll operate with a good degree of independence, backed by a leader and team who prioritise mutual support and collaboration to effectively manage operations and support functions.

Key priorities:

  • Provide strategic guidance on case management and employment matters, including terminations, rehabilitation, RTW, and disputes.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints.
  • Coach leaders to enhance their skills and reduce escalations to P&C.
  • Develop educational materials for leaders.
  • Assist in managing employment-related claims.
  • Collaborate with P&C Business Partners to identify trends and risks and contribute to action plans.
  • Effectively report and track ongoing cases.
  • Support the improvement of Youi’s people policy framework and processes.
  • Assist in managing relationships with external providers.
  • Advocate for risk-based decision-making.
  • Foster a strong people risk culture within the business.
