Description:

Working alongside the Labour Relations and Performance team, the Human Resources Coordinator will contribute to the team by ensuring that all employees’ labour and administrative needs are met in a timely manner, in addition to working towards attaining the regional goals in relation to HR management.

Tasks & Duties

  • Responding to HR inquires from employees, both unionized and non-unionized.
  • Responds to grievances and complaints in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and best practice.
  • Reviews requests for Leave of Absence and Return to Work planning, including medical and non-occupational.
  • Managing and updating the Company’s HRIS, including coordinating with various departments on seniority lists.
  • Provides management oversight to the company’s workers disability/claims management program.
  • Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected, compliant and maintained.
  • Administers all health benefit applications and member change requests.
  • Provide communications through publishing internal bulletins and memorandums - as well as updating the GardaWorld website with the communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Skills Required

  • A university degree or college diploma, preferably in human resources, is required or equivalent experience and CHRL designation an asset.
  • 1 to 2 years generalist experience in Human Resources and Labour Relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Legislation, the Canada Labour Code, Canadian Human Rights Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to multitask and produce results in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint
