Description:

Reporting to the HR Director, the Employee Relations Manager will be providing industrial relations advice, guidance and support to the wider HR team, as well as leading key IR/ER strategic initiatives.
The ER Manager will collaborate with HR, offering counsel on performance issues, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, grievance handling, union engagement, performance management procedures, and employment termination.

key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with unions, Fair Work Australia, and legal counsel.
  • Work closely with HR leadership to develop and communicate policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
  • Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure alignment with labor legislation and address legal issues.
  • Lead negotiations with unions to establish and renew agreements, fostering positive relationships.
  • Design and deliver training programs on performance coaching, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive work culture.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience in Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, or Employment Law, preferably with an HR Generalist or Legal background. They will be confident in guiding best practices to promote a positive and inclusive work culture and collaborate with stakeholders to create mutually beneficial agreements aligning with organisational goals.
