Description:

Our client is seeking an Employee Relations Project Specialist to join their dynamic People & Culture team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your deep understanding of business and people solutions, ensuring the right balance of risk mitigation, employee experience, and fairness. You will be integral in driving an integrated employee relations (ER) and HR Compliance strategy that aligns with the organisation’s culture and strategic priorities.
What you’ll do:

As an Employee Relations Project Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people elements of various projects. Your deep understanding of business operations will enable you to design people solutions that strike the perfect balance between risk mitigation, employee experience, and fairness. You will collaborate closely with the broader People Team to identify areas of HR compliance vulnerability and risk, proposing remediation and improvements in line with the organisation’s KPIs. This position is integral to driving an integrated employee relations (ER) and HR Compliance strategy that aligns with the organisation’s culture and strategic priorities.

  • Provide employee and industrial relations support to key internal stakeholders including project team, People Partners, Legal (internal & external), and senior leaders.
  • Stay updated on recent laws impacting employment including state requirements impacting our sector, organisation, and employees.
  • Lead HR compliance audits, addressing compliance opportunities, issues, and gaps.
  • Use effective change management practices to implement new or improved employee relation models, processes and tools across the organisation.
  • Be a key stakeholder in developing our Enterprise Agreement strategy as an expert or specialist member of the negotiation team.
  • Work collaboratively to identify, develop and implement key organisational culture and engagement initiatives and strategies.

You possess deep knowledge of national and state-based employment legislation which enables you to provide valuable insights into relevant employment-related laws. Your strong business acumen and proven partnering experience at a senior level allow you to influence and shape exceptional employee experiences. You are passionate about working collaboratively, using your strong communication skills to effectively coach, negotiate with, and influence others.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Law, or equivalent experience.
  • Deep knowledge of national and state-based employment legislation.
  • Skilled in the management and development of complex Employee Relations case management.
  • Strong business acumen with proven partnering experience at a senior level.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • A passion for working collaboratively with strong communication skills.
