Description:

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE

  • Experience on advising multiple stakeholders on ER matters.
  • Provision of ER Advice on consultations, including TUPE, policy and practice to line managers and People colleagues
  • Delivery of ER project work in line with business needs
  • HR Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist able to manage complex Employee Relations matters. particularly collective bargaining agreements.
  • Understanding and experience of external good practice ie ACAS requirements for such policies / processes as well as broad collective Employee Relations
  • Experience of advising & coaching on broader Employee Relations topics when needed including Performance,
  • Sickness, DBH, Disciplinary & Grievance policy
  • Experience of advising & coaching on strategic changes including contractual and non-contractual change, presenting business with options and risk profiles
  • Advice on terms and conditions as contained within the Electricity Business Agreement and other associated documents.
  • Attention to detail and able to produce professional documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work in a timely manner to stakeholders.
  • Clear and confident communicator (verbal and written) with commercial acumen and ability to adapt. communication style in given situations.
  • Able to support and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employee Relations Specialist to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis!
You will directly provide or facilitate a high-quality Employee Relations service which is customer focused and responsive through provision of professional guidance, risk-based advice, support, coaching and training to the business. Collaborating with business leaders to enable effective change management and support the wider management of good industrial relations is also essential to the role. Managing multiple priorities, you will be highly effective at working with multiple stakeholders within a matrix operating environment and deliver projects in accordance with associated aims and timescales.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Ensure consistency and efficiency in the application of National Grid’s ER related policies; coaching stakeholders as required.
  • Key support to Electricity Business Forum and Local Electricity Business Committees ensuring high quality minutes actions and outcomes are met in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide risk-based advice to People business partners on employee relations matters.
  • Liaise between Forums to ensure communication and feedback as required to support Employee Relations Strategy.
  • Working with Head of ER to ensure ER appropriate documentation to support ER projects and statutory requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to deliver outcomes both in the business and with Trade Union representatives (external and internal)
  • Deliver ER project work in line with the business needs.
  • Provide ER support to individual cases (where required)
  • Retention of ER records with data compliance
  • Create insight form ER data, networking, and external policy forums.
  • Delivery of ER feedback to resolve concerns.
  • Lead on Employee Relations communications and engagement plans where required.
  • Advising and coaching managers at formal meetings including hearings and appeals supporting them with best practice insight to enable fair and reasonable decisions to be made.
  • Collaborate on diversity, bullying, harassment and grievance investigations as required and coach respective parties in approach. Attend formal meetings where required.
  • Ensure documentation of processes are effectively administered and completed.
  • Formulation and delivery of related learning and development and capability programmes.
  • Champion ER best practice through the delivery of policy and practice, training.
  • Proactive contribution to meetings and technical reviews of cases and lessons learnt to share learning.
