Description:
Messner Reeves LLP, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Employment and Law Paralegal to join the Litigation team in Orange County.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven working experience in Labor & Employment law.
- Well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, to include E-Filing in federal court.
- LexisNexis and court filing docketing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of pre-litigation and litigation paralegal experience.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- The ideal candidate will take the initiative, have strong attention to detail, highly organized & has impeccable communication skills.
- Paralegal Certificate.
- Located in California.

Responsibilities:
- Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.
- Heavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.
- Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, disclosures, and discovery requests.
- Research and analysis of case issues, including medical research of facts, and medical record chronology.
- Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State.
- Ensuring that all important events/deadlines are properly calendared, tracked, and communicated to all participants with support of the Legal Assistant
- Auditing cases to ensure client files are up to date to prepare for depositions, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
- Assisting with witness preparation, direct examination, binders/folders for depositions, mediation, and trial.
