Description:

Messner Reeves LLP, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Employment and Law Paralegal to join the Litigation team in Orange County.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven working experience in Labor & Employment law.
  • Well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, to include E-Filing in federal court.
  • LexisNexis and court filing docketing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of pre-litigation and litigation paralegal experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • The ideal candidate will take the initiative, have strong attention to detail, highly organized & has impeccable communication skills.
  • Paralegal Certificate.
  • Located in California.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.
  • Heavy client contact, contact with witnesses and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.
  • Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, disclosures, and discovery requests.
  • Research and analysis of case issues, including medical research of facts, and medical record chronology.
  • Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State.
  • Ensuring that all important events/deadlines are properly calendared, tracked, and communicated to all participants with support of the Legal Assistant
  • Auditing cases to ensure client files are up to date to prepare for depositions, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Assisting with witness preparation, direct examination, binders/folders for depositions, mediation, and trial.
