- Education Level: Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school, excellent academic achievement, and licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state ba
Experience:
- At least 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney either at a large regional or national law firm or as in-house primarily practicing in the areas of labor & employment law. (Prior In-house and business litigation experience a plus).
- Experience working with a remote workforce is a plu

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team and a legal business partner to our internal clients.
- Ability to not only identify areas of legal risk but to also think outside the box and come up with creative solutions that both mitigate legal risk while also helping achieve the business to reach its goals.
- Strong Prioritizing Skills
- Ability to Exercise Sound Judgement
- Adaptable to change.
- Ability to Work Independently & Prioritize with minimal supervision, in order to Meet Deadlines
- Flexibility to handle matters which may come up outside of regular business hours given the fact that we are global company with operations all over the world.

Responsibilities:
This position will be part of the Global Employment and Litigation Team and report to and work closely with the Global Vice President – Employment and Litigation, primarily providing employment law advice to the North America People Solutions group and business operations, as well as managing EEOC and administrative claims and litigation in the U.S. This position will also be responsible for tracking changes and developments in U.S. employment laws, communicating those changes and developments to key stakeholders, and working with those stakeholders to ensure the company’s policies and practices are compliant.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, timely, and clear counsel to key stakeholders on a wide variety of employment law issues, including but not limited to, ADA accommodations, terminations, internal employee complaints, wage and hour issues, and DOL matters.
- Manage and defend administrative complaints from EEOC and similar state agencies, review and respond to attorney demands letters, and help manage employment litigation and outside counsel assigned to handle such litigation.
- Track changes and developments in U.S. employment laws, communicating those changes and developments clearly and concisely to key stakeholders, and working with those stakeholders to ensure policies and practices are compliant.
- Review internal policies and practices regularly to identify areas of improvement.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with external parties (e.g., outside counsel, opposing counsel, government agencies, former employees, clients/customers, etc.) regarding legal matters, claims, policies/practices, and/or reporting obligations.
- Assist and support department attorneys with the following areas of legal practice: Employment Litigation Matters / Claims, Business Litigation Matters / Claims and Third Party Subpoena responses and finally, International (mostly Canadian Legal Matters / Claims)
