Our Vision
Landscape Ontario has identified a need to offer a Horticultural Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program in the Belleville area to inspire job seekers to pursue meaningful careers in landscape horticulture, in order to support the current and future needs of its members to design, build and maintain living green infrastructure and landscape horticulture projects.
About the Role You’ll Play
As an Employment & Placement Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals secure employment by providing personalized support, coaching, and resources. You’ll work closely with job seekers to assess their skills and career goals, develop job search strategies, and connect them with job opportunities that match their qualifications. If you’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and empowering them to succeed in their careers, we want to hear from you.
Reporting to the Pre-Apprenticeship Program Coordinator, you will deliver employment and placement services for 24 job seekers enrolled in a Horticulture Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program. You will aim to inspire and engage job seekers by promoting opportunities in the landscape horticulture trades.
Your Key Responsibilities
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ASSET:
- Knowledge and experience in the landscape horticulture industry.
- Experience working in the employment services field.
- Knowledge of the apprenticeship program.
About This Position
- Full time Contract (12 Months) *strong possibility of renewal, $62,000 - $67,000
- Reports to the Director of Workforce Development
- Contributing member of the Workforce Development team
- Some evenings or weekend work as required to complete projects or attend events
- This position requires travel from time to time to Belleville ON
- Hybrid work model allowing for flexibility and fluidity in your weekly schedule
- Office located in Milton, ON
