Description:

We have an exciting opportunity in our NHS Northamptonshire Talking Therapies service for an Employment Advisor (EA).
This is a new role in the service focused on providing support and advice to our service users to help them gain, return to or retain employment. You will work closely with clinicians and develop good working partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including employers, job centres, trade unions and employment agencies.
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic candidates to join our innovative team.
The principal role of the EA is to provide Information, Advice and Guidance to all NHS Talking Therapies clients who choose to receive employment support. The EA will work to empower the client to make better decisions about their working lives, communicate better with their colleagues and managers at work.
The EA is responsible for engaging with the client to establish the client’s employment goals. The EA will work with the clinician and the client to produce a personalised action plan to ensure that psychological treatment and employment support are provided to support the individual to improve their mental health and meet their stated employment goals, which may be to improve their current employment or find alternative work.
The EA will work directly with Jobcentre Plus, Work & Health Programme providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support people to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
