WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- The EMT of the Critical Care Team will assist the Critical Care Paramedic in providing specialized care to patients in need of urgent procedures or admission to intensive care centers. The EMT will participate in trainings and education needed to maintain their role.
- Assist with the care of all patient’s including assessment and care in the basic life support skills.
- Provide safe and expedited transport of the critical patient under the care of the Paramedic. Assist will application and utilization of critical equipment.
- Participates in ongoing monthly & quarterly training including Audit & Review, Sims Lab, Clinical Rounding, Protocol updates, and all assigned learning.
- Communicates and acts as a liaison between the patient, physicians, and all agencies involved in the transport.
- Provides orderly and expedited patient care at pick up and destination.
- Responsible for assigned ambulance, equipment and supplies utilized during shift, security of equipment and supplies, daily check lists, and crew quarters cleanliness.
- Responsible for assisting with collecting demographic information, daily check sheets, and all other forms of documentation related to the job description.
- Day Shift is 7:00 AM- 7:30 PM
- Night Shift is 7:00 PM- 7:30 AM
- Full-time Critical Care Transport EMT will be scheduled to work three 12-hr shifts one week, then four 12-hr shifts the next, with an every other weekend requirement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/ GED- Required
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)- Required
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS)- Required
- Drivers License- Required
- 2 years work experience in Emergency setting (ER department or 911 contracted ambulance service)- Preferred
