OVERALL JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Through the power of learning, Enabling Academy seeks to foster an inclusive society for persons with disabilities to live, learn and work. As a disability learning hub, we rally partners from the education, business and disability sectors to provide responsive and quality learning opportunities for persons with disabilities, and to enable their network of support through training.

The Deputy Director will:

  • Support the Director and Senior Director in conceptualising, formulating and developing strategies for Enabling Academy, and overseeing the implementation of strategies and building capabilities of the team.
  • Cultivate collaborative partnerships for Enabling Academy, aimed at fostering innovation and enhancing training capabilities to:
  • provide diverse lifelong learning opportunities for persons with disabilities that support them in their personal growth and professional development;
  • upskill the network of support, including employers, sector professionals and caregivers, around persons with disabilities;
  • facilitate the practice of accessibility and inclusion among training providers.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree holder in any discipline.
  • More than 12 years of experience in related fields of adult learning, preferably in programme conceptualisation, evaluation and improvement, and operational management of innovation initiatives, including a minimum of 8 years in a leadership role.
  • This role requires a dynamic individual with a strategic mindset, strong analytical thinking skills, excellent leadership, and communication abilities, along with a comprehensive understanding of education policies.
  • Proven track record in design thinking, system thinking, and human capital development. He/she will be instrumental in driving impactful change, fostering innovation, and developing a high-performing team that is aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
  • Proficient in translating complex concepts into actionable data for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in navigating dynamic work environments, exercising sound judgment, and prioritising effectively in the face of competing demands.

1. Training for Persons with Disabilities:

  • Administering training grants tailored for persons with disabilities.
  • Evaluating training proposals and collaborating closely with training providers to implement training programmes.
  • Tracking and analysing key metrics to continually improve training outcomes

Responsibilities:

  • Engage and cultivate partnerships to assess current and future skills needs and gaps of persons with disabilities and their network of support which include employers, sector professionals and caregivers, ensuring alignment with evolving industry demands.
  • Lead and oversee the teams responsible for:
  1. Training for Persons with Disabilities:
  • Administering training grants tailored for persons with disabilities.
  • Evaluating training proposals and collaborating closely with training providers to implement training programmes.
  • Tracking and analysing key metrics to continually improve training outcomes.
  1. Training for Stakeholders (Employer, Consumer Inclusiveness, Caregiver, Sector Professionals):
  • Designing and delivering training initiatives to bolster employers’ confidence in hiring, retaining, and integrating persons with disabilities.
  • Consumer Inclusiveness consultancy and training aims to guide organisations towards greater inclusion, expanding their market share to better serve consumers with disabilities.
  • Training for caregivers to enable them to better support persons with disabilities.
  • Training to strengthen sector professionals’ competencies to better support persons with disabilities and their employers.
  • Ensuring the development of relevant, engaging, and effective curricula.
  1. Funder Management and Business Support:
  • Cultivating strong relationships with funders, addressing their queries, providing regular reports, and facilitating operational support for successful programmes implementation.
  • Collaborating with various teams on budgeting, procurement and reporting matters.
  • Work with Service Development/Lifelong Learning in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns to raise awareness of the Enabling Academy, utilising digital marketing, social media, content creation and other platforms.
