Description:

Under general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor in the Reliability, Renewable Energy & Decarbonization Incentives Division’s Rebates and Incentives Unit, the Energy Commission Specialist III will be the subject matter expert on a variety of technical and analytical tasks related to building decarbonization and tribal community engagement in support of the Equitable Building Decarbonization Program. The incumbent will serve as a lead in program planning and program implementation. The incumbent will perform sensitive and highly complex analyses requiring a high degree of judgment and technical knowledge. The incumbent will have responsibility for projects requiring coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Projects led by the incumbent are critical to the mission of the Energy Commission, addressing broad national issues such as global climate change.
Minimum Qualifications (MQs): The MQs for this classification can be found at Energy Commission Specialist/Supervisor (Technology Evaluation & Development) Series - CalHR. Hybrid and Telework Employees: Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be relocated to California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.

Working Conditions
The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. Occasional travel may be required to attend in person meetings or events at headquarters in Sacramento, which will be at your personal expense.
