Overview:
TRC is seeking an experienced Energy Efficiency Field Engineer to perform business, contractor, and project development activities for a large energy efficiency program. The ideal candidate should have experience with utility sponsored energy efficiency programs. The candidate should have a strong field support and outreach background and excellent time management skills including the ability to monitor and manage efficiency project progress while seeking additional opportunities within new or repeat customers. The candidate will oversee the implementation and marketing of programs to support program goals and maximize energy savings in the commercial and industrial marketplace. The candidate will be responsible for generating new business by leveraging existing relationships with customers, and contractors (trade allies).
Some additional essential functions: targeting high potential prospects, identifying energy saving solutions, conducting demos and training, conducting pre and post inspections of installations of energy efficient equipment. Act as an energy solutions expert by helping customers with their unique opportunities and energy efficiency initiatives. Work with the entire program team to share ideas and new strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
- Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution.
- Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
- Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer’s organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program is required
- 5 years of professional experience in the energy efficiency field with specific technical knowledge related to the installation of energy efficiency products and services is required
- 3 years of professional experience in the energy efficiency field with specific technical knowledge related to the installation of energy efficiency products and services with a Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program accepted as equivalent
- Previous work experience with manufacturers, distributors, or installers of energy efficient equipment including lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, motor drives, or compressed air systems in either technical sales or field support roles is required
- Knowledge and experience with utility sponsored energy efficiency programs is preferred
- Successful candidate will be a self-driven team player with passion for energy efficiency solutions
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written); Demonstrated experience with field-based activities and ability to work remotely
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office tools i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, and database project tracking and CRM systems
