Description:

Hartley People Recruitment are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Efficiency Officer to join our client’s team in Kilkenny.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Level 8 Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of energy management systems, ISO 50001, and energy efficiency principles.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting teams to achieve objectives.
  • Knowledge of statutory obligations related to energy and emissions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EU and national funding opportunities for energy projects is desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen and lead the Energy Management Team to achieve energy and emission targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key energy departments within the local authority.
  • Collaborate with local authority departments to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Convene energy dedicated meetings and workshops with Significant Energy Users (SEU) owners.
  • Generate energy performance reports for SEUs in accordance with ISO 50001 requirements.
  • Identify energy-saving projects and incorporate them into the Energy & Emission Investment Strategy 2030.
  • Maintain the Monitoring & Reporting (M&R) database for SEAI.
  • Support local authority departments in data collection and sorting to meet reporting requirements.
  • Conduct annual monitoring & reporting to SEAI and verify data accuracy.
  • Mentor local authority departments to ensure compliance with energy/emission statutory obligations.
  • Assist in the generation of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) for public buildings.
  • Support procurement of services for feasibility studies and energy audits.
  • Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures:
  • Investigate and identify solutions to data gaps for evidence-based analyses.
  • Assist in implementing energy audits and project design and specification.
  • Identify and develop funding applications for energy planning research and projects.
  • Assist the Climate Action Office in meeting Covenant of Mayors commitments.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of local initiatives.
  • Support the development of Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with Southeast Energy Agency representatives.
  • Work collaboratively as an active member of the Southeast Energy Agency.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Energy and Emission Investment Strategies.
  • Undertake any other duties as required to support the local authority’s energy efficiency agenda.
