  • Energy and GHG Feasibility Studies
  • Energy and GHG Audits
  • Energy and GHG Planning
  • Economic and Financial Analysis
  • Sustainable Project Consultant (ex. CaGBC Zero Carbon)
  • Measurement and Verification
  • Energy and Carbon Modeling

Reporting to the Energy and Carbon Solutions (ECS) Team Manager, the Senior Energy Engineer will focus on technical leadership of projects in a client-facing capacity. You will utilize your technical capabilities and WalterFedy’s strong reputation in the marketplace to make an impact on energy & carbon reduction and will deliver differentiating projects to our clients. You may also play a role in technical leadership of the Energy & Carbon team through quality assurance reviews, delivering internal training, technical oversight., and executing on the goals and strategies for the group.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in proposal/pursuit stage of projects as follows:
  • Scoping and defining projects during the proposal/pursuit phase through collaboration with clients, other ECS and WalterFedy team members.
  • Provide project leadership for energy & carbon scope. This includes:
  • Maintaining client relationships to understand their needs and deliver solutions to exceed expectations.
  • Provide direction to other team members on approach and execution.
  • Review progress and deliverables for quality.
  • Mentorship (technical and career) of EITs and less experienced engineers
  • Leader in collaboration with all engineering and architecture disciplines in integrating approaches encouraging low energy and carbon.
  • Completion of on-site reviews/investigations for projects
  • Trouble shooting issues and mitigating project risks
  • Other relevant responsibilities

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years working in mechanical engineering and energy and carbon solutions
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (required)
  • Certified Energy Manager (preferred)
  • Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (preferred)
  • LEED AP (preferred)
  • Certified Passivehouse Designer/Consultant (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of OBC, ASHRAE, CaGBC Zero Carbon, CaGBC LEED, Passivehouse, Toronto Green Standard, etc.
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Proven ability to mentor EITs and junior engineers
  • Proven client-facing capabilities
