DELIVERING GOOD ENERGY STARTS FROM WITHIN
It’s an exciting time to join Origin. Creating a great place to work means together we’re progressing our ambition to lead the energy transition through cleaner energy and customer solutions. We’re always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers – and for our people.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As an Energy Market Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our day-to-day operations in the dynamic and fast-paced physical energy markets. This position serves as an entry point, offering individuals of all backgrounds the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience, with the potential to progress into an Energy Trader role. We provide comprehensive in-house training and support to help you succeed in the electricity spot market or physical gas markets.
Once training is complete, you will have the chance to work in either the gas or electricity trading team on a well-balanced 24/7 shift roster. We understand the importance of work-life balance and have designed our roster to avoid long periods of shift work and flexible work from home arrangements to support the later shifts. Additionally, our traders are actively involved in exciting projects through standard work hour project days, providing you with unique opportunities to make an impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyse short-term gas and electricity market conditions
- Collaborate with Plant and Market operators to execute trading strategies
- Participate in project work to implement changes to the operating environment
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration
