QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering, economics, mathematic or another relevant quantitative discipline
- Interest in power systems and at least three years of experience in the workplace
- Preferred experience with Plexos or similar energy dispatch market simulation tools
- Proficient in data quality control, extraction, analysis and management including use of database tools and data visualisation products such as PowerBI
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build robust working relationships with stakeholders
- Self-driven, well-organised, and have an eye for detail
- Strong level of resilience with an ability to manage competing deadline
Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining short-term dispatch electricity models
- Identify future risks and opportunities to better improve forecast accuracy
- Collaboration with Hive Operators and Energy Planners to comprehend energy requirement and electric dispatch modelling methodologies and processes
- Overseeing the knowledge bases to ensure the effective functioning of our short-term energy models
- Assist the team to develop new analytical capabilities to address emerging issues
