The Energy Sector Manager-Sustainable Energy will support the expansion of Tetra Tech’s presence in Europe and Eurasia by managing, sourcing and executing consulting engagements focused on energy sector projects, initiatives, or policies, particularly in relation to financing sustainable energy and green transition. You will work with Tetra Tech ES technical advisory leads and team members on developing new business, sourcing new engagements and clients, by leveraging your strong relationships within the energy sector, to include multilateral development banks, European donors and other strategic clients. As the team grows you will also manage a pool of junior associates on the team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, business administration or similar.
- Eight (8) years of progressive consulting experience in the energy sector, preferably with experience working with a variety of clients, to include MDBs and donors.
- Understanding of the European energy market, and related regulatory framework (energy acquis).
- History of working in the sustainability sectors, with a deep understanding of sustainable energy policies and energy efficiency financing.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating highly- effective teams, ideally with experience managing people with diverse backgrounds and skillsets.
- Comfort with corporate strategy analysis frameworks and data-driven decision-making. Proven ability to work within a multifunctional organization.
- Intellectual agility and curiosity, superb analytical skills with a can-do problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel internationally to project locations and conferences.
VALUED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in development of financial instruments for energy projects.
- Experience in the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe for energy project.
- Oral and written communication skills in German, French or Spanish or Russian.
Responsibilities:
- Provide independent support for the delivery and management of a portfolio of Tetra Tech ES projects and help execute a business development plan for Europe & Eurasia in line with the overall growth strategy.
- Identify new clients and business opportunities, prepare proposals, take a lead role in project implementation.
- Contribute to other global pursuits and technical delivery across our projects, particularly in relation to sustainable energy policies and energy efficiency financing.
- Collaborate closely with other Tetra Tech operating units in Europe, aiming to collaborate on new opportunities and approaches to new clients.
- Interact directly with clients; work independently on complex assignment projects; and lead projects and teams.
- Coordinate projects progress reports, work plans, budget and development of contractual deliverables, technical presentations and other documents.
- Raise Tetra Tech ES’ profile in the market through outreach and knowledge sharing on global emerging practices related to the energy transition and evolving technologies.
- Organize Independent Contractors and Subcontractors for projects delivery.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, support and fostering collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Represent Tetra Tech ES as a thought leader at conferences, webinars and on social media platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
